As I do each month I am outlining how I spent my time on Council activities during the month of August, as well as providing a disclosure of those things I was paid to attend above and beyond my base Council remuneration. Apologies for being a little later than normal.
Farmers’ Market booth
Many of us on Council took some shifts at the Farmers’ Market to hand out water conservation kits to residents.
NLLS Executive meet
Attended the Northern Lights Library System Executive meeting in Elk Point.
Meet Org Review Consult
Steering committee meeting regarding the organizational review Council budgeted for in the 2014 budget.
CRB Golf Tournament
Worked Morinville’s hole with CAO to meet and greet golfers from the municipalities in the CRB. This event raised close to $15,000 which was just split between the food bank and the community gardens.
Attended Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry’s 100th Anniversary Celebration with Mayor Holmes.
Seed cleaning Plant
Had a tour of the Morinville Seed Cleaning Plant, an opportunity to understand what this business in our community does.
Catch up meeting with the mayor after her return from holidays.
Coffee 3 residents
Jim Prentice Presentation
Attended with the majority of Council to hear what the candidate had to say.
One-on-one Org Review
Met with one of the consultants that are doing the Organizational Review to give him my impressions of the Town of Morinville and its various systems.
Attended regional parade with Councillor Rob Ladouceur
Leap of Faith show/shine
Attended a fundraising show and shine and judged vehicles.
Spent the day at the Morinville Farmers’ Market’s Country Fair and worked the water conservation table with the mayor.
