coverCompassesHot on the heels of the Portuguese language edition of Nobly Born is the release of the Portuguese language edition of Compasses and the Cross, the second in my trilogy of illustrated histories for Lewis Masonic.

O Compasso e a Cruz is, like Nascidos em Berço Nobre, published by Madras Editorio of Brazil. Again they have done a beautiful job of the cover art.

For some reason I don’t recall that this one was on the line to be translated, but happy that it is available.

pcoverI was pretty pleased to find a package waiting for me in my mail box today – doubly pleased that it contained four copiers of the Portuguese language edition of Nobly Born.

Nascidos em Berço Nobre is published by Madras of Brazil and takes my 8 X 10 coffee table-style book published by Lewis Masonic in 2007 and reworks it into a 320-page, handsome 6X9 trade paperback.

Can’t read it, but I couldn’t be more pleased with the job they did on the book.

Stephen giving a talk on Masonic symbolism

Stephen giving a talk on Masonic symbolism

I’ll be speaking at Dynamic Lodge in Holden, Alberta on Nov. 4. The topic of the evening is Approaching the Altar: The Symbolism of Freemasonry’s Fancy Footwork.

The meeting is set for 8 p.m.

kindleMy latest book – Morgan: The Scandal That Shook Freemasonry – is also my first book to be made available for Amazon’s Kindle platform, thanks to the tireless efforts of my publisher Michael Poll of Cornerstone Book Publishers.

For those of you who have a Kindle, the book is available for $9.99 US, which is a pretty decent price for a 500 page book.

Morgan is a book that I researched for the better part of a decade and spent a full seven months of my life writing. Response has been positive, even from members of the Masonic fraternity who expressed some concern about a book being published that made the claim that the Masons had someone whacked.

The Templar Tarot

The Templar Tarot

Although it is still a few weeks away from its official release, The Templar Tarot: the journey has already received some praise from Bonnie Cehovet, co-founder of the World Tarot Network, and former Vice President (as well as Director of Certification) for the American Board For Tarot Certification.

In her extensive review Cehovet says of the deck:

I enjoyed reading about both the historical and the symbolic content in these cards. I feel that they would appeal to a collector, to someone that is interested in the Templars, to someone who wishes to work with meditation or journeying, or to someone interested in artistic decks. They would be best worked with by someone who already has at least some knowledge of the Tarot.

The Templar Tarot is due to be released in mid-November, 2009.
